CNC Plasma Cutting · Steel Burnouts

Send us your file. We’ll burn the parts.

High-definition CNC plasma cutting on a 6′×12′ table—mild steel, stainless, and aluminum, from a single prototype to full production runs. Send a DXF or DWG and we cut it. No file? Our engineers draw it from a sketch, a sample, or a napkin.

// What We Cut

Plasma Cutting Capabilities

A large-format, high-definition CNC plasma table with clean edges, tight repeatability, and the finishing to send parts out ready to use.

High-definition plasma cutting in progress on the 6x12 table

6′ × 12′ Cut Capacity

A full 144″ × 72″ cutting envelope—larger than the 5×10 tables most shops run. Oversized plate and full sheets handled in one setup, no splicing.

// Bring the big plate
Thick plate rings plasma cut from heavy steel

Steel, Stainless & Aluminum

Mild steel up to 3″ (1¾″ production pierce), stainless and aluminum up to 2″. One table, most of the metal your job calls for.

// Most metals, one source

Bolt-Ready Holes & Edges

High-definition cutting produces clean, square edges and round, near-finished holes—often drop-in ready with little or no secondary machining.

Cut From Your Files

Send a DXF or DWG and we nest it, cut it, and have it ready. Don’t have a file? Send a sketch, a drawing, or a sample part and our engineers draw it for you.

// File in, parts out

One-Off to Production

A single prototype or a repeat production run—parts nested tight to make the most of every sheet and keep your cost per part down.

// One part or ten thousand

Cut, Cleaned & Coated

Add blasting, priming, and industrial paint in the same shop—parts leave finished and protected, not raw steel that rusts on the dock. Part marking and etching available too.

// Finished, not raw

File to Finished Parts

A straight path from your drawing to cut parts in hand—and we can draw it if you can’t.

STEP 01

Send It Over

DXF or DWG is ideal. No file? A sketch, a PDF, or a sample part works—we’ll draw it to spec.

STEP 02

Nest & Quote

We lay your parts out to make the most of the material and come back with a clear, fast quote.

STEP 03

Cut & Finish

Cut on the high-definition table, then—if you want—deburred, blasted, and painted in the same shop.

STEP 04

Pick Up or Ship

Parts ready on your timeline. Pick them up in Birmingham or we ship them to your door.

// Beyond the Cut

Plasma is where a lot of jobs start. It’s not where this shop ends.

Cut parts are the first step for most of what we build. The plates become a weldment, the weldment becomes a frame, the frame becomes a conveyor, a platform, a cart, or a machine—engineered, fabricated, wired, and finished by the same team, under the same roof.

So if your burnout is part of something bigger, say so. We’ll quote the cut, and we’ll quote the whole thing.

// Common Questions

Plasma Cutting FAQ

How thick can you plasma cut?

Mild steel up to 3 inches (1¾ inch production pierce), and stainless steel and aluminum up to 2 inches, on a high-definition CNC plasma table.

What is the largest part you can cut?

The table has a 6 foot by 12 foot cutting envelope (144 by 72 inches), so full sheets and oversized plate are cut in a single setup with no splicing.

What file formats do you accept?

DXF and DWG files are ideal and cut directly. A PDF, a hand sketch, or a physical sample part also works: in-house engineers draw it to spec for you.

Do you cut one-off parts or only production runs?

Both. A single prototype or bracket is welcome, and repeat production runs are nested tight to make the most of every sheet and lower cost per part.

Can you finish or paint the cut parts?

Yes. Deburring, blasting, priming, and industrial paint are done in the same shop, so parts leave finished and protected rather than as raw steel. Part marking and etching are available as well.

Do you cut burnouts for other fabrication shops?

Yes. Fab and weld shops without a table, with a table down, or with a part too large for their own equipment can send a file and have parts cut on the 6 by 12 table at shop-to-shop pricing.

What is the turnaround time?

Lead time depends on quantity, material, and finishing. Send the file and the quote comes back with a firm date.

Where are you located, and do you ship?

Bham Iron is at 3959 Valley East Industrial Dr in Birmingham, Alabama. Parts can be picked up at the shop or shipped to your door.

Send us your file. We'll cut it.

Send a DXF, DWG, a sketch, or a sample part. You'll talk to people who actually run the table—not a call center.
